Sound Bath is an industry leader of ambient music and sounds across major streaming platforms, and prior to this project, they did not have a dedicated website.
User Needs & Business Goals: The stakeholders had some user data based on previous emails and interactions, and that gave us two main types of users: individual listeners and business owners. We mapped out the user flows to determine how users would get to the website and what questions they would be looking to answer. They would likely be going to the website to learn about the brand, and this fortunately aligned with the top stakeholder goal of showcasing their full catalog.
Flows and Framework: Based on our user data, stakeholder goals, and user flows we agreed on a hierarchy of information and features to be presented to the user. These flows and framework (specifically not using Hi-Fi wireframes) allowed myself and the stakeholders to really iron out the architecture and purpose of the website before touching any visual elements.
Fortunately Sound Bath already had a lot of great visual assets (logos, colors, fonts) that I was able to use in the UI designs.
I made some additions to the existing brand color palatte and setup the font sizes for our typographic hierarchy that used the font families they already were using.
After a couple of meetings with the stakeholders, we arrived on a vision for the website: to be like a museum. Some museums can have their own bold artistic personality as you first arrive, but then became less pronounced as your focus turns to the artwork (or in this case music and messaging). All screens were designed to work across all device sizes from small mobile phones to tablets to large desktop computers.
Homepage below the Hero section.
Page for one of the categories of their catalog.
Connect page.
All Screens Built Out: In addition to designing the website, I built it out on Squarespace so that the stakeholders could manage and adjust the website on their own.
The website is live and viewable at https://www.soundbathvibrations.com. Content is managed by the stakeholders and may change over time compared to the designs shared above.
